PDC World Darts Thread
The 2021 World Darts tournament starts today. There will be 1000 people at the Ally Pally tonight before it closes it’s doors due to London going into Tier 3.

MVG is the obvious favourite and is coming into form at the right time. He’s been shit this year by his standards though.

Price has had a good year and has a good chance.

Reigning champion Peter Wright is the other strong contender.

From the rest of the field, I fancy Dimitri Van Den Bergh although he has a very tricky route to the final. Michael Smith has a great chance if he can get over his choking. Aspinall is also a very good outside bet.

Avoid betting on Anderson and Cross. They have been playing like shit.

There have been some fantastic matches and moments Sydney, but yes a proper crowd would have been nice and would have been much harder for Price.

Re: PDC World Darts Thread
Price didn’t mention Anderson either to be fair, and the fact they clearly don’t like each other means it’s not really surprising from either of them.

Re: PDC World Darts Thread
They didn't mention averages much, bar that one incredible set by Price, so felt it was a low quality final compared with some over the years, but credit to Price who got his nerves back on track. Anderson made it easy for him though.

Re: PDC World Darts Thread
Anderson was average, think he is on the way down now, past his best, the whole final was a bit poor, a few great finishes but both missed outs that in most years would have been punished by the opposition.

They need the crowd back in, it realy was missed and a big part of the reason the final was a tad dull IMO.

Bit disappointed with Anderson, thought he’d have been a bit more complimentary about Price rather than grizzling about how bad he was. Clearly still no love lost between them

Watched that and what a load of shit darts is. The trophy should have been a massive pint. 500k fair play though

Re: PDC World Darts Thread
He’s now world champion, world number one and half a million quid richer. I’m sure he’s not too bothered about their not being a crowd to see it.

Not a great final but having no crowd there ruins it.

Fingers crossed it’s back to normal next time.

Re: PDC World Darts Thread
That was sporting of Gary. He saw that Price was missing loads of match darts, so missed a few more doubles just so that we could end the match.

Re: PDC World Darts Thread
Piss poor final, Anderson was shocking. Can’t begrudge Price the win though, caps off a fine year. Karma maybe winning it when there’s fuck all people there to see it, although that’s probably gone in his favour throughout the tournament.

Re: PDC World Darts Thread
If Anderson can up his average he’ll win this as his arse won’t go

Re: PDC World Darts Thread
boyo's arm is tight, clear sign of tension. still very little room for anderson to make any further mistakes so price should get over the line

Re: PDC World Darts Thread
His head must be all over the place, big set coming up. What was that, 7 or 8 darts to become World Champion??

This is getting interesting ....

Re: PDC World Darts Thread
No way has Price overachieved, he’s improved massively over the past two years winning majors, this takes him to world number 1 and although he’s had a couple of last set deciders, he definitely deserves to be here.

Re: PDC World Darts Thread
Price is scoring better and hitting the doubles. He deserves this, but the final has been a let down as only one player showed up.

Iron Duke 11:00 Sun Jan 3
Re: PDC World Darts Thread
Anderson hanging on. If he can stop hitting ones and fives and start hitting the doubles first time, this game might just start getting interesting.

Re: PDC World Darts Thread
amazing finishing, to do it consecutive games is impressive

Not a fan of Price but he deserves this.

Not the same without the crowd though.
